FREE Extra Character - You Decide!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 08:50:02 AM

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

We have a very exciting announcement!

In addition to the limited edition alternate Doug the Flatulent head we mentioned yesterday (check out the artwork now on the main page notice!), we’ve decided to give our loyal backers an additional reward if we hit 20k (thats only £800 more than the current total)!

Each backer who pledges £58 or more will receive a free additional model (cast in white metal) and you get to vote on what it is!

Here’s the options:

1) The Goblin King.
Yes the actual Goblin King himself! With his Cockrel Crown (check out our profile image) all goblins know to fear and obey him! Although physically puny, he is armed with a massive bejewelled Sceptre of Power, and has the ability to force friendly goblins to hand over their Moonstones, suffer wounds in his stead and mess with activation order by bellowing orders in a loud, squeaky voice.

2) Gertrude the Faerie Hunter.
A bad-ass human huntress, armed with a blunderbuss, devastating round-house and ass kicking attitude. Kitted out with anti-magical amulets she will fearlessly step forth in the Fae Glades to claim a bounty. This character is already a popular choice in our internal play test groups and as her name suggests causes absolute havoc when deployed against Faerie's as well as some of the energy amplifying Goblin troupes that it is possible to build.

3) Diana, Queen of the Fae.
A powerful Faerie sorceress, worshipped by all who gaze on her terrifying beauty. Using fear and intimidation as her primary weapons, she is more than happy to wound her own kind to draw extra power for her spells. In game she can steal and re-allocate enemy energy onto her own followers, manipulate the movements of friend and foe and inflict painful mental attacks.

4) Natty, the Rogue.
This young Gnome moves undetected through a crowd with a mask of simple innocence on her face before cutting the purse strings of the unsuspecting and melting back into the shadows. In game this character is highly evasive and is able to take possession of enemy moonstones during melee, swinging many a game in her controller’s favour during the dying moments via stealth rather than strength.

Reply to this update to cast your vote! Votes will be counted Monday 24th October at 8:00pm BST (GMT+1).

News on Gotchgut, Doug and more!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 01:02:58 AM

Good Morning Moonstone hunters!

Its been an incredibly busy 24hrs here at the Goblin King's Castle so this is a few updates in one:

Firstly, we absolutely smashed through the Gotchgut stretch goal in the blink of an eye! We're really pleased about this as he's a very fun piece to put on the table and offers different tactics depending on which other characters you pair him with. He's shown above alongside humans but he can in fact be used by any troupe you choose to build and plays particularly nicely with the Vicious Midget!

Secondly, in the pre-campaign comments someone mentioned how cool it would be to have a version of Doug the Flatulent where his visor is up showing his face and we though -yeah, why not?! So we have decided to create a second alternate head which will be for backers of this campaign (and possibly tournament prize support and special events) only. Backers will get both the standard and Limited Edition versions. Our Artist is working on a design as we speak!

Lastly, Goblin King Games are heading up to Hertfordshire this evening for Gamesfest! We will be running Live demo's all day on Saturday so if you're nearby and fancy meeting the designers and receiving a demo please come along! I believe tickets are still available and priced at only £2.50! : http://www.gamesfest.co.uk/tickets/

Gotchgut

Dear Moonstone hunters!

Well it wasn't long at all until our first stretch goal went tumbling down! All troupe boxes will now come in full retail packaging – colour printed and gloss laminated with protective foam inserts. Very nice :)

Now, call me fickle but I'm already looking at the next goal - Gotchgut!

Beta Stat Cards for Baron Von Fancyhat, Gotchgut and The Vicious Midget.
Beta Stat Cards for Baron Von Fancyhat, Gotchgut and The Vicious Midget.

Gotchgut is a solid brawler with excellent resilience and can be used by *either faction* offering some nice synergies with both sides of the starter set:

If used alongside the Human troupe in a bodyguard role, you can practically guarantee no enemies are going to lay so much as a pinky finger on the Baron's glorious headgear while this giant still draws breath! Or, if coaxed on by his spirited drinking-buddy the Vicious Midget, Gotchgut can go 'full rambo' and form an unusual if strangely effective tag team of trouble thanks to the Midget's Lard Lover and Giant Whisperer abilities.

If you're curious to learn more about these characters, our very own Richi P has written a story all about the time Gotchgut and the Vicious Midget first met (in a tavern of course) right here: https://moonstonethegame.com/stories/shineydown/

Due to his size, the Gotchgut miniature will only be available in Resin. We're sure this is going to be a fabulous model and it can be yours for the princely sum of 16 Groats, added to your pledge (we also accept British Pound Stirling)!

Hey Moonstone hunters,

Well it looks like Shabaroon has just had some good news! This game is really gonna happen - no turning back now! ;)

MASSIVE THANKS to all of you who have made this possible!

Now lets get those stretch goals tumbling! We only need £1k more for the sexy packaging upgrade for all Troupe Boxes and £2k more for the Gotchgut add-on – a mercenary giant who can be used by either faction and has synergies with both humans and goblins! We’ll be posting up his stat card shortly.

Also, I know a lot of you are just as excited about getting those Faerie Troupe Boxes as we are about making them, so if you haven’t already done so - now is the time to start sharing this Kickstarter page on all your social media accounts, forums, Facebook groups and at your local clubs and game stores. If we bring in just a few more backers I’m sure we’ll have those Faeries unlocked in no time. ;)
