Latest Updates from Our Project:

Late Backers, BackerKit, and 3D Printers
over 7 years ago – Fri, Jan 20, 2017 at 11:01:47 PM

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

For our latest fortnightly update we have some great news to share with you!

Firstly after consultation with you, our beloved backers, we have decided to open our doors once again to the Goblin Citadel and allow a late backer option for those who did not manage to make our Kickstarter. Therefore if you or anyone you know missed out on our campaign but would like to pledge, then you can do so here: https://moonstone-fantasy-skirmish-game.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Also, it has come to our attention that there are still quite a large number of people who have yet to complete the BackerKit pledge manager. If you think you might be one of the those then we urge you get this completed ASAP. This is required so we can ensure that our suppliers are providing us with the right amount of product, and that you get the correct items without undue delay. If you have lost your invitation email you can get access to the pledge manager by going here and entering your Kickstarter email to have it resent.

We have also received some great news from our casters. There have been some problems with their 3D Printers, but these problems should now be resolved, meaning it is only a short matter of time before we'll be able to start showing off to you our master prints which will then go on to make our moulds! As you can imagine, this is very exciting for us, and we can't wait to get these prints in hand to show off to you all!

We are also very pleased to announce we have added Dave Kidd to our sculpting team. He is currently working on Quack. Dave is a Moonstone backer and a very experienced and talented sculptor having worked extensively for Privateer Press, Warpath, Infamy, Studio McVey, Bushido and many others. We are super excited to see what he can do for us.

And as always, for our behind the scenes news and updates, please be sure to join our Moonstone Development Group on Facebook, and take an active part in the design and creation of the game itself: https://www.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751/ We have recently begun testing alternate scenarios which was something we know was frequently requested. You can get the experimental rules document on the group page.

For those of you who have kindly read until the end, we also have another great little sneak peek, a current work in progress of Shabaroon by Tom Lishman!

New Year Developments
over 7 years ago – Fri, Jan 06, 2017 at 06:21:37 PM

Happy New Year Moonstone Hunters!

We hope that you have had a good time over the festive season and that the Goblin King saw to it to gift you fine ales and grinklesnaps, rather than coal-chips and grizzleblips.

Deep within the Goblin Citadel we have been busy, very, very, busy.

The world of Tauber is currently in the process of being mapped out, with final names and territories being settled on.

We mentioned previously that our next render was being developed for Seasick Stu, and we are pleased to show him off below:

As you can see, Stu is a fantastic sculpt. Made by Tom Lishman, the same artist responsible for our original Firespitter.

We also have the first draft of our newly designed Arcane cards by Micah Epstein. These are still works in progress, and there are loads of wonderful details to look at, to the extent rather than tell you about the fine details, we'll just leave them here for you to see for yourself:

As an added bonus we also have a special video for you as our very own Tom has recorded a full game play through of a traditional game of Moonstone whichyou can watch right here: https://youtu.be/qFrEHCrTThI

We hope that you have enjoyed this update and will have much more to showcase in due course!

Dear Moonstone Hunters, A short update for you today.

We are happy to announce that we are currently in the process of getting a number of 3D masters produced, and as soon as we have something to show you, you can be sure that we'll be sharing with you! There were a few hiccoughs caused by hardware issues, but we believe these to be all resolved now, and we can't wait to start showing more off to you.

We are also super excited to announce that work has begun on the sculpting of Seasick Steve, and as above, the moment we have anything to share with you, you will be the first to know!

In additon to be above, we have also returned to the truly talented Micah Epstein to create for us high quality effects and patterns for the Arcane Cards. You should remember Micah as the artist responsible for the beautiful front cover of our deluxe rulebook. So we are extremely excited to see what the end result of these will be!

In other news, over on the Facebook Development Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751/ a (https://www.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751/%C2%A0a) good discussion has been growing over additional objectives we can include in the deluxe rulebook where we look at alternative missions and objectives to help shake up your game. As always, please be sure to join this group if you can and share any and all ideas, in addition to any playtesting you may enjoy!

Until next time, we hope you get to spend some time with your friends and loved ones over this festive period and wish you all a fortuitous Moonstone hunt in the new year! - Goblin King Games

BackerKit, Dragonmeet, and Fluff
over 7 years ago – Wed, Dec 14, 2016 at 04:48:19 PM

Dear Moonstone Hunters!

Due to a minor snafu at the Goblin Citadel, last friday's bi-weekly update was delayed, so without further adieu:

BackerKit

The past couple of weeks have seen our head designer working flat out to bring you the Moonstone BackerKit, which by now you should all have received in your inbox. If you have yet to receive this, please make sure you are using the email account you used to sign into Kickstarter, and that you have checked your email junk/spam folders. We would hate for you to miss out on our splendid addons because the email got flagged as junk.

The festive season is fast approaching, and we all know what that means. Our waist size expands, while our Hobby Budget contracts. For this reason we have decided to keep the BackerKit open until February 7th, and any payments incurred will only be charged at that point. We hope that this decision will allow you to enjoy this time of year all the more without adding additional concerns.

For those of you who have already completed the BackerKit survey we would like to send you a big, warm thank you! If you have yet to do so, we would like to urge you to do so as soon as possible. The sooner we can lock these down, the sooner we will have a good idea of the quantities needed from our suppliers and can get the manufacturing process cranked up to 11!

Dragonmeet

Last weekend we took an excursion to Dragonmeet in London this gave us a great opportunity to meet a wide range of people from other game designers, artists, and of course, other gaming enthusiasts.

Highlights from this trip included being able to meet the head designer behind Purgatory by Underestimated Games: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1306503490/purgatory, Faith - A Garden in Hell by Burning Games: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/burninggames/faith-a-garden-in-hell-rpg-starter-set (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/burninggames/faith-a-garden-in-hell-rpg-starter-set-campaign?ref=discovery), and of course catching up with friends of Moonstone, Mythos by Paranoid Miniatures: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/254891487/mythos

All of these, and more, are terrific games, and we loved talking to them about their ideas, designs, and inspirations, while of course sharing with them our own experiences and advice. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we look forward to seeing them all again in the future.

Fiction

For those interested in our Deluxe Rulebook as well as our setting and stories, we are entering into agreements with a new fiction writer. We can't go into much detail at this point, but he is a terrific writer, and we have high hopes that he will work really well along with the rest of our 'fluff staff' in order to bring you the best setting and stories for our beloved game.

Play Testing

Of course no fortnightly update would be complete without us informing you of our on-going play-testing. Our focus for these tests has been stress-testing corner cases. Our initial internal findings have been very promising, and we hope to share the results with you in due course.

In the meantime we would ask each and every one of you, if you haven't already, to check out www.moonstonethegame.com/downloads (http://www.moonstonethegame.com/downloads) and download the beta rules as well as stat cards and standees. Give the game a try, see what you like, what you hate, what works, what is broken, and let us know via the Facebook Development Group: https://m.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751 (https://m.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751?tsid=0.17473642858082283&source=typeahead) by doing so we can add your data to our own and crunch the numbers accordingly. In a short amount of time we have already received some fantastic feedback and suggestions which have been assessed and implemented.

Who knows, maybe the next rule we add, will be yours?

BackerKit Surveys Incoming!
over 7 years ago – Thu, Dec 08, 2016 at 04:38:34 PM

Dear Moonstone Hunters!

Our BackerKit survey is due within the next 24 hours! That's right, by this time tomorrow, you should have received an email with a special link to our BackerKit survey. It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for placing all the orders necessary our end to fulfilling your rewards on time. However, we realise that with Christmas approaching, money may be tighter than usual at the moment so we have decided not to actually charge anyone's cards until February 2017 so feel free to add all items you want now. :)

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here: https://moonstone-fantasy-skirmish-game.backerkit.com

If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, please contact support at https://moonstone-fantasy-skirmish-game.backerkit.com/faq and we'll get you sorted out!

Once again, it is important that you complete your survey as soon as possible, so please keep an eye on your inbox and remember to check your spam/junk folders as well to ensure you don't miss out!
