Dear Moonstone Hunters,

Word around the Goblin King's throne room, is that you want to see more painted examples of these beautiful Moonstone miniatures.

Well want no more! For today we bring you yet more jewels!

First up is the Commonwealth favourite, Baron Von Fancyhat, sporting one of his finest hats! All for one!

Next up if the ever faithful Eric the Squire! With his wooden sword in hand he hopes to crush his enemies and see them driven before him! Or at least try very hard...

Seasick Stu. Sculpt by Tom Lishman, Paint by Seb Lavigne

Our focus moves now to the Dominion, and our grog swilling Seasick Stu! This sea faring Goblin is never too far without a Yo Ho and a sing song about Long-Dong Sliver!

Shabaroon. Sculpt by Tom Lishman, Painted by Seb Lavigne

Last but by no means least we have Shabaroon! When he was nought but a gob, his mother told him that if he kept eating strange mushrooms, that he would eventually turn into one. Well he may not have transformed himself, but those mushrooms sure did grow on him!

Last but by no means least, we have an extra special treat for those of you who read this far down.

Our sculptors have been hard at work, pumping out more, and more work for you, our faithful backers and today we are proud to bring you the finalised sculpt for Dianna Queen of the Fae!

Now Dianna, as well as being a great sculpt, is our free model which will be fluttering it's wings towards each of our backers who pledged £58 or more!

We hope you have enjoyed these treats for the eyes, and as always, if you wish to stay abreast of the absolutely latest Moonstone information, you should head over to the Moonstone Development Group on Facebook and help us shape this game into the best it can be!

The Flutter of Tiny Wings
almost 7 years ago – Fri, May 26, 2017 at 10:41:59 PM

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

As was shown in our last week, our production moulds for Moonstone are now go, and as if that photo from the previous update wasn't proof enough, here is the latest shot from the casting shop!

During this time, our sculptors have been busy with the next part of the project, something that to a lot of people is perhaps the most daunting, and what I know a lot of you have been waiting a long time for:

Faeries!

Teetoe sculpt by David Whitaker
Teetoe sculpt by David Whitaker

Here we have the first, near complete, member of the Fae, Teetoe.

Out of all the Faeries, Teetoe is renown not just for her beauty, but also her speed of attack, and magically enhanced dagger.

Teetoe's wing design was something that we took a long time over, and even opened it up to our Facebook Development Group to once again ask you, the community and players, for your opinion.

So if you want to get more involved in the very design and development of 'the future of character driven skirmish games' to quote one of our developers, the best way to do so is to join the Development Group and have your say!

But that isn't everything, we have also had this -very- early work in progress render for non other than Diana, Queen of the Fae!

As you can see, Diana is starting to take shape and is looking to be a beauty of a model, matching up with her concept art perfectly!

What I particularly like about this in progress render, is that it really gives you insight into the digital sculpting process, something that the untalented masses such as I have little to no direct involvement, when you compare Diana with Teetoe, you can really see how the different components of a sculpt are put together, and how the layers of detail are applied.

We hope this was informative for you, and that you will join our Facebook Development Group or you can E-Mail us directly.

Thank you

A Giant Approaches
almost 7 years ago – Sat, May 13, 2017 at 12:31:26 AM

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the whiff of a Goblin's Mum!

As the ground shakes from his massive footfalls, the Giant Gutchgot emerges from the fortified Fyrgnholt nestled within the base of the Ferrous Touch mountains.

This is a work in progress render for the Giant, but as you can see, he is shaping up to have so much character, from his shield kneepads, all the way to his trousers which are barely staying up. This big chap is truly due to be a focus of attention for those fortunate enough to add him to their pledges.

But wait! That is not all, for a lone sniper of the Commonwealth has been spotted heading this way across the Steppes of Sulphur to the Gnome home of Brawdol.

Meet Flintlock, painted by none other than Seb Lavigne. I think it is safe to say that this model has come out perfectly when compared with the original artworks and renders and exudes the exact same detail that we originally hoped for.

For those interested in production, we have also recieved this from our friend in casting, Vince:

Here you can see the first cast of production moulds for Quack of the Commonwealth. Again, the level of detail captured is truly incredible.  I don't know about you, but I am really struggling to find a single model that I prefer to the others, and we are so excited about getting these into your hands in due course!

As always, if you have anything you would like to share with us, you can do so via the Facebook development group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/159322051100751/ or by emailing us at [email protected]

A Mushroom Crop Appears
about 7 years ago – Sat, Apr 29, 2017 at 01:17:06 AM

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

Firstly, apologies for the delay in this update.  Our Goblin scribe had written an update for you all, which was sent via carrier-crow to our astrologist based within the darkest recesses of the Wyrm Wood, but it would appear that the crow had been attacked by a contingent of Gnomish Goat Hearders, and as such was never sent to you.

But fear not our beloved citizens of the great land of Tauber, for many great things lay in wait for you!

Firstly, the development team of Goblin King Games took time away from their damp, dark, design desks, in order to attend Salute 2017, the premier Wargaming event in the U.K. Whilst there we managed to spend some time with the completely cracking casting crew of Hysterical Games:

It was great opportunity to spend some time with a great bunch of guys and and have a chat to learn more about the art of casting miniatures.

We have also been sent this fantastic shot of resin miniatures that are fresh off the casting process!

These models come straight from casting master Vince at Hysterical Games, who is possibly more familiar with these models than anyone else in the world, and the man responsible for casting a huge amount of the models from our initial Firespitter campaign.

Why not have a closer look and see if you can tell us which characters you can see? (Clue: there are four)

What's more, we have also received our render for Agatha Tavernfrau from David Whitaker:

Agatha Tavernfrau sculpted by David Whitaker
Agatha Tavernfrau sculpted by David Whitaker

David is a digital sculptor who is more traditionally known for working in video games, but is looking to break into the miniature market, which as you can imagine requires a very different set of sculpting requirements when you factor in the casting process. Looking at Agatha, I am very confident in saying that David is going to go very far and we are very happy to be working with him as part of our sculpting team.

We hope you have enjoyed this update, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Thank you
