Unfortunate Delays & Friends of Moonstone

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

Only two weeks ago we were hoping to be bringing you the best news that we had completed production and had begun Pick n Pack, but I am sorry to say that such celebrations have been pushed back a further 2-4 weeks.

Sadly we were informed shortly after the last update that there has been complications with our casting company’s metal spinning mechanicals, resulting in a damaged machine, but much worse, the electrocution of it’s operator.

Thankfully he is ok and making a speedy recovery, however this has meant that the metal production had to be put on hold as the machine was repaired, and being a man down, the team have been yet unable to complete their resin production which in itself is a very timely process.

We are glad that production is still underway, and that our distributor should be taking receipt of all the completed Wave 2 Miniatures during this month, but at the same time we recognise that this additional delay must be annoying and an inconvenience to you. With hope we will have better news for you in our next update.

Production on track!

Dear Moonstone Hunters!

So a few bits of news today! First up, the Deluxe Rulebook has been signed off and sent to the printers. The projected date of getting them delivered to the distributor is February 26th.

We have also sent off the files to the card printer for the stat cards and Troupe boxes for Wave 2 Items!

Those who have been following with previous updates will remember that a big factor in delivery is the casting of models, and we have been reassured by our caster that all Wave 2 models will be with us by the end of the month!

All of this means we are on track to begin pick n pack for Wave 2 at the end of February, and shipping/distribution throughout March!

Next up, we have now locked down the delivery addresses for all backers, so if you have any changes from now, please get in contact with us as soon as possible.

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

The time for Wave 2 Shipping is rapidly approaching, and while our caster is busy churning out a seemingly endless supply of Gnomes and Faeries, we are in need of locking down your delivery addresses for a final time. We are aiming to lock this down at the close of business on Friday (UK time).

What this means is we are going to need YOU to sign into your BackerKit account and verify that your delivery address is accurate and up to date.

If there are any outstanding issues that still need to be addressed please contact us ASAP at [email protected] and we will get that resolved for you.

So please, check your address details are correct, as after the end of the week, you will not be able to change them.

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

No doubt you are looking for information about how Wave 2 is progressing, and you will be pleased to know that we are still pushing ahead with this. The Deluxe Rulebook has fallen behind ever so slightly, we were aiming to have it signed off by the end of January, as as of today (2nd Feb) that has yet to happen. This is due to us adding an extra 2 short stories, and a character page for an entire character that we had originally planned to only feature in Book 2, not our debut (Book 1).

Yes this has pushed back printing by a week or two, but we are confident that it should not effect our current estimate for Wave 2 as mentioned previously, plus it means that for those who have ordered the book, they will receive more content, and that is never a bad thing!

If our calculations are correct, there are only 2 miniature which we are outstanding in showing off to you in Wave 2, Wasp and the Fencer of the Faeries, well... Surprise! Here there are, and I am sure you will agree, they are beauties!

But that is not all!

On Thursday 25th January, we of Goblin King Games took a small amount of time to go visit the 1066 Wargames Club in Hastings. Now this club had originally extended the invite back in October/November 2016, and while we were eager to take them up on the offer of a visit, things proved not possible until recently.

Whilst there were were fortunate enough to be called on for an interview with Chris from the YouTube channel Box to Board, the resulting video you can find below:

 Of course it would not be a trip to a Wargames Club without playing some Wargames!

Above you can catch a glimpse of 3 out of 4 tables of Moonstone being played at this club, between us for the evening totalling about 20 or so players!

As you might imagine, it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip, and we at Goblin King Games even got to soak up the coastal sights the following morning

This was a great experience for us to really get to spend some time with you, the very people who helped make this great game a reality, and share our enthusiasm with yours. Wave 2 Preview

Dear Moonstone Hunters,

It has been a most interesting couple of weeks for us here at the Goblin Citadel, most notably due to the amount of work we have been putting into the Deluxe Rulebook.

Our chief world builder has been up late almost every night either writing additional content, correcting existing content, or proof reading everything fluff/lore/story related. This has been a strange task to complete, making full use of dual scribe setup so that each bit of fluff can be compared with each other for continuity, as well as spelling, and geographical comparison. We wouldn’t want locations such as Gribblebog or the Wyldwood described in the fluff as in the south of Tauber, when the map shows them clearly in the north!

What’s more, the Goblin King has been hard at work on the manuscript design and layout, scouring pages of ancient text, ensuring that the very rules that Moonstone is run by is accurate and focused, pulling out his own Occam’s razor!

We have also received these great painted models by backer Kai Sellman:

 There is so much that I love about these paint jobs! I love how Kai has used contrasting colours on the goblins’ armour to make them really stand out, and how he’s managed to get even the tiniest of eyes in on the Midget! You may remember from previous examples of backer’s work, I’m particularly fond of a scenic base, one that has enough detail to add to the look of a model, but not so much as to distract. I would say that Kai has nailed it with that and his use of water effects is tremendous!
